Open Boat: On occasion, Capt. Landon may open up select dates for an open boat trip. This gives individual anglers the chance to claim a seat, split the cost with others, and fish at a lower per-person rate — typically around $200–$250 per person.

What You’ll Fish For

The Texas coast offers a mix of inshore species, and what we target can change throughout the year. Depending on the season and conditions, trips may focus on speckled trout, redfish, black drum, flounder, sheepshead, or other seasonal bay fish.

Some days are about chasing trout over grass and shell. Some days are better for working shorelines for redfish. Other days, black drum, flounder, or structure-loving fish may be the better game plan. Capt. Landon will build the trip around what gives your group the best shot at a fun and productive day on the water.

Fishing is not one-size-fits-all, and the fish do not care what we had planned. Wind, tides, water clarity, bait movement, temperature, and recent fishing patterns all play a role in where we go and what we target.

That may mean changing locations, switching techniques, targeting a different species, or waiting for the right bite window. The goal is always the same: make the most of the day you booked.

Capt. Landon will be honest about what is realistic for the time of year and current conditions. Some species are more dependable year-round, while others are more seasonal or condition-specific. We’ll always do our best to plan a trip that fits your goals while still following what the water is giving us that day.

Where does my trip launch?

  • Aransas Pass – Conn Brown Harbor

    Conn Brown Harbor is a common launch point for trips fishing the Aransas Pass area and surrounding bay systems. This location gives Capt. Landon quick access to productive water and is a convenient meeting spot for many guests coming from Rockport, Aransas Pass, Ingleside, or nearby areas.

    When you arrive, look for Capt. Landon and the Come and Wade It boat. The boat has the Come and Wade It logo on the console, so you can’t miss it if you don’t spot Landon right away.

  • Port Aransas – Fisherman's Wharf

    Fisherman’s Wharf in Port Aransas is a convenient launch option for guests staying in Port A or nearby areas. This location can be a good fit depending on the season, conditions, and where Capt. Landon plans to fish that day.

    Capt. Landon will confirm your launch location and meeting time before your trip. Once you arrive, walk between the Grumbles and Fisherman's Wharf buildings to the back of Fisherman's Wharf, look for the Come and Wade It boat with the logo on the console — easy to spot even if Landon is loading gear or getting the boat ready.

  • Rockport – Cove Harbor South

    Cove Harbor South is a convenient Rockport launch location with access to local bay waters and nearby fishing areas. This is often a great option for guests staying in Rockport, Fulton, Key Allegro, City by the Sea, or surrounding neighborhoods.

    If you are staying on the water in Key Allegro or City by the Sea, dock pickup may be available depending on your location, weather, and the day’s fishing plan. Capt. Landon will confirm your exact meeting spot before your trip.

    When you arrive, look for the Come and Wade It logo on the boat console. If Landon is not standing right there when you pull up, the logo will help you know you’re in the right place.

What to bring

We provide the fishing gear, tackle, water, ice, and onboard ice chest — but there are a few things you’ll want to bring to stay comfortable.

Please bring:

  • Valid Texas fishing license
  • Sunscreen
  • Hat or visor
  • Polarized sunglasses
  • Snacks
  • Drinks of choice
  • Weather-appropriate clothing
  • Personal ice chest, if you want one for the ride home
  • Waders and wading boots, if wade fishing

And yes… no bananas on the boat. We don’t make the rules. Actually, maybe we do. Either way, leave them at home.

General Policies

  • Bait Notice

    Good Bait Matters

    Bait needs can vary depending on the season, trip style, and what the fish are doing. Some trips may use artificial lures, while others may call for live bait.

    During certain times of year, such as croaker season, live bait may be an additional cost. Capt. Landon will let you know ahead of time if bait is expected to be extra for your trip date, so there are no surprises at the dock.

    The goal is always to give your group the best shot at a good day on the water — and sometimes that means bringing the good stuff.

  • Weather Policy

    Safety Comes First

    The Texas coast is beautiful, but she can get western fast. Wind, storms, lightning, rough water, and unsafe conditions can all affect the trip plan.

    Capt. Landon reserves the right to delay, reschedule, or cancel a trip due to unsafe weather or poor conditions. If your trip is canceled by the captain due to weather, you may reschedule or receive a refund.

    A little wind or light rain does not always mean the trip is canceled. Capt. Landon will make the call based on safety, water conditions, and whether the day still makes sense for your group.

  • Cancellation Policy

    Give Us a Heads Up

    Cancellations made more than 14 days before the scheduled trip may be eligible for a refund.

    No refunds will be issued within 14 days of the scheduled trip date.

    Capt. Landon begins scouting, planning, watching conditions, and preparing during the weeks leading up to your trip. Last-minute cancellations make it difficult to refill the date, which is why trips canceled within 14 days are non-refundable.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need fishing experience?

Nope. Trips are beginner-friendly, and Capt. Landon can help with everything from baiting hooks to casting tips. Whether you fish all the time or have never touched a rod, you’re welcome on the boat.

Can kids come?

Yes, kids are welcome! Please include their ages when booking so Capt. Landon can plan the best trip style for your group.

Children under 13 are required to wear a life vest while on board. Life vests are available on the boat, but we recommend bringing one that fits your child well for the most comfortable and secure fit.

Do you clean the fish?

Yes. Fish cleaning is included with your trip. Capt. Landon will clean and bag your catch so it’s ready for the cooler, grill, fryer, or however you plan to enjoy it.

Do I need a fishing license?

Yes. Guests are responsible for having a valid Texas fishing license before the trip.

Can we bring alcohol?

Drinks of choice are allowed, but please be respectful and safe. No glass or illicit substances are allowed on the boat.

What if we have more than 5 people?

Please contact Capt. Landon before booking. For boat fishing trips, Capt. Landon can legally take a maximum of 6 guests. However, groups larger than 5 can get crowded quickly, and we will typically recommend coordinating a second boat for the best experience.

For wade fishing trips, larger groups may be easier to accommodate depending on the group, conditions, and trip plan.

What time do trips start?

Most trips start in the morning around safe light. Exact launch times vary based on weather, tides, season, and fishing conditions. Capt. Landon will confirm your meeting time before your trip.

What if I want a half day trip?

Half day trips may be available by request depending on the season, schedule, and conditions. Contact Capt. Landon directly for current pricing, availability, and details.

What are open boat trips?
